Tokyo Volcanic Island Tour

Leave Takeshiba port by boat in the morning. It takes only about two hours to the first island “Oshima”. The mountain in the middle of the island is an active volcano which erupted for the last time in 1986. People sometimes call the Mt. Mihara “Gojinka”, the god of fire. Mt. Mihara is also famous for being the place where the Japanese govern- ment imprisons Godzilla in the movie, as well as being used in the novel Ring, in which the mother of Sadako predicts that Mt. Mihara would someday erupt using her psychic abilities! With a local nature guide, we will climb on the exotic volcanic mountain and have a relaxing time in a hot spring with a great view.

We will drive around the island, visit photo spots and the shrine in the mystical forest. After lunch, we will walk around and do some shopping at the pier. Don’t forget to buy some interesting local souvenirs before you leave the island! Accommodation Cozy B&B style. A private room with beds or futon with breakfast.
