DAY 1 Arenal
• You will arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport and a private transfer will take you to your hotel in La Fortuna.
• After check-in, the rest of the day is free for you to enjoy at your own leisure.

DAY 2 Arenal
• After breakfast, your first excursion is a visit to a cacao farm. Here you will discover the process of making chocolate from bean to bar.
• You will learn about the history of chocolate and even join in with the hands-on demonstrations of the chocolate-making processes. Immersing yourself in the delicious flavours and sweet aromas of Costa Rica’s chocolate world, you will discover the wonderful tropical ingredients used, including Jamaica flower, cinnamon, nutmeg and chilli powder.
• The next excursion will give you the chance to do white-water rafting on the Balsa River. The milder white-water rapids (Class II-III) mean that the whole family can enjoy plenty of action and thrills on the water. This rafting trip will see you navigate rapids such as Magnetic Rock and Dredges. You will also enjoy a 15-minute break on the river where you will be able to sample the region’s delicious fruit, take in the beauty of the tropical setting, and look out for the monkeys, toucans and the other wonderful exotic species here.
• After an action-packed morning, you will enjoy a welcome lunch at a country estate. The food is prepared on a traditional wood stove and served in a typical Costa Rican way. As you enjoy the wholesome tasty food, you will experience the peaceful way of life in Costa Rica’s countryside. Then, you will return to your hotel and the rest of the day is free for you to enjoy at your own leisure.

DAY 3 Arenal
• This morning, after breakfast you will head to Lake Arenal and have the chance to try pedal boarding. Powering the board with pedalling,
• you will enjoy gliding through the tranquil waters at Lake Arenal. Surrounded by rolling hills, farmers’ fields and the impressive Arenal Volcano on the horizon, pedal boarding is the perfect way to take in the lake’s breathtaking views.
• Your guide will point out the different species of wildlife in the area and the dried-up lava flow from the Arenal Volcano’s last eruption in 2010.
• In the evening, you will enjoy visiting a small town that is just 30 minutes drive from La Fortuna.
• Here you will meet the Mendez family, who are local farmers and ecologists. The Mendez farmers have given part of their land away to a project that encourages the natural regeneration of the area’s plants and animals.
• To explore the area, you will enjoy an evening hike.
• You will start on a trail that takes you through a patch of reforested rainforest with several surrounding serene lakes. It’s the perfect place to discover Costa Rica’s flora and fauna.
• During the walk, you may have the chance to see a variety of nocturnal birds, mammals, bats and insects. The up-close wildlife encounters are a highlight to this evening activity. Walking beside the lakes, the hike will finish at the frog sanctuary. From the Bull Frog and Dart Frog to the Red Eyed Tree Frog, the sanctuary is dedicated to protecting the different variety of frog species in Costa Rica.
• After discovering the different sights and sounds of this nature reserve, the evening will end with a delicious Costa Rican dinner that has been prepared using a wood burning stove. What better way to finish the day than with a hearty traditional meal served with a view of the twinkling lights of the San Carlos valley

DAY 4 Arenal to Manuel Antonio
• After breakfast, a private transfer will drive you to Manuel Antonio Beach.
• Located on Costa Rica’s Pacific coastline, this small seaside village sits at the entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park. The overhanging palms of its unspoilt beaches lie within an easy walking distance to the country’s most popular national park.
• In the evening, you will enjoy a two-hour guided walk exploring the jungle’s flora and fauna at the Manuel Antonio National Park and Wildlife Refuge. You will discover the tropical forest at night time and marvel at its variety of nocturnal species. Your guide will accompany you through the wonderful sights and sounds of the jungle, pointing out the different plants and animals as you go. The walk will finish with a visit to the Wildlife Refuge and The Amphibian Aquatic Garden.
• After a fascinating day learning about Costa Rica’s native species, you will check in at the hotel in Manuel Antonio.

DAY 5 Manuel Antonio
• Today, after breakfast, you will have the chance to visit the Manuel Antonio National Park during daylight. You’ll discover how this park’s pristine natural beauty comes alive with exotic wildlife during the day. From monkeys and sloths to the tropical birds and butterflies, the wildlife encounters here are sure to delight. The picturesque two-mile hike through the jungle includes visiting one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches.
• Fringed by lush tropical rainforest, the white sandy beach lapped by the crystalline blue water has been voted as one of the most beautiful in the world. The 20-minute beach stop, will allow you to take in the paradise-like setting. This guided hike is the perfect photo opportunity to capture the wonderful flora and fauna of Costa Rica.
• After discovering one of Costa Rica’s national jewels, you will return to the hotel.

DAY 6 Manuel Antonio
• After breakfast, the day’s excursion is a catamaran cruise. Departing from Quepos you will set sail gliding through the sapphire-hued waves, exploring the Manuel Antonio National Park by water.
• Your guide will point out the different marine wildlife, as you take in the jaw-dropping landscapes. From discovering the dramatic cliffs and interesting rock formations to seeing the nesting grounds of the different birds. A barbecue lunch will be served on board the catamaran.
• After touring the sparkling coastline, your captain will anchor at Biesanz Bay for the afternoon. Here you can laze on the deck or go snorkelling in the bay and see the colourful tropical fish here.
• From the shimmering parrot fish and the striking stripes of the angel fish to spotting a starfish, the bay is alive with interesting marine life. What’s more, dolphins have also been spotted in the area!
